Living Wreath and Globe Making Classes
Come prepared to make a beautiful, timeless and easy care treasure. Living succulent art pieces have been known to live for years. Ann Pyles and Jessica Larson from Smoke Tree Farms will provide you with the basics for designing your very own Northwest hardy living succulent wreath or globe. We will spend 3 hours together, working on plastic topped tables with the size of wreath or globe frame you choose, filling it with organic soil, wrapping it with living moss, and placing the succulents you desire in your own design. Smoke Tree Farms will have many succulents there for you to purchase for your wreath and you are encouraged to bring your own plant material. Although, you can bring your wreaths inside for special occasions, it is important to use only those succulents that are Northwest Hardy (hardy to zone 8B) so that your entire wreath can remain outdoors for many years. Remember that you can add or change the cuttings in your wreath as time goes on to add interest or if you find exciting new plant material.
Wreath and Globe Making Class Charges
* With stanyon/ 8 " terracotta geranium potSaucer/ feet There is a $25 charge per person for the 3-hour class. Smoke Tree Farms can provide 3 round wreath frame sizes. In addition to the classroom instruction fee, you will be charged for the size base kit you choose (this will include the frame, the organic soil, the moss, wire, hanging chain and greening pins). We have one size of globe frame which is approximately 11" in diameter and finishes out about the size of a basketball. The globe frame kit cost includes the organic soil, the moss, and greening pins. You will take your round wreaths home on a platter that will be provided. You will be given a transport board for your globe. Our globes are planted so that they will sit on a stand (as a gazing ball would) outside your front door or on a tabletop. We will bring stands with us, to display the globes. These will also be available for purchase or you could provide your own once you get home. Please let your class organizer know what wreath size you will be making or that you would like to make a globe so that we can bring the right number of kits with us. We will also have extra frame kits and succulent material for you to purchase should you want to make more on your own. We will also bring pre-made succulent creations, including square and round wreaths, topiaries and globes that can be purchased and to use as samples. A Succulent Creations Care Sheet is included in each kit. In addition to any succulent plant material they wish to bring, each participant will need to bring a bucket or tub to transport moss and hold soil at their table. Each person will need a planting tool (long handled tweezers, chopstick, and reamer - something to poke holes through the moss into the soil). *Note: shipped frame kits do not include soil. Shipping and handling charges will apply depending upon ship to location. |
